try reducing the pic to under 50KB... some news-services allow for small
attachments even in non-binary groups. Try a test pic in a binary group-
and see if it shows up there.

Heck Ray, that is WAY too much work  LOL....    This is the only NG
that I've looked at in years and I can't see spending a lot of time
reducing picture sizes in order to get them on here.   I'll just throw
them up on a picture page and post a link like I've been doing.

Fiber optic internet service....   15 MPS download over 2 MPS upload
speeds...   So far, the speed is REALLY impressive.  It's also
$15/month cheaper than cable internet was

Cool, I guess there are some benefits to having suburbia overwhelm the
neighborhood.<G>

I am still trying to find out what all those benefits are!   So far,
the only thing I've seen is rising property taxes.

How the hell did you get that?  That's fast enough to stream movies over the
internet.

I'm sitting here battling my DSL provider... at best 1.8MB up and 300k down.
But I'm paying for 3MB down.

Fort Wayne just had all the fiber cables laid about a year ago.  The
brother-in-law has been using it and the mother in law just got hooked
up a month ago.   I figured it was time to bite the bullet and do it
too.

The jury is still out as to how much better it really is than the
cable but I am sure I'll keep it and dump the cable in a few weeks.

The thing I am really waiting for is the FIOS TV to replace my cable
here as well.  They are talking basic TV (comparable to cable's basic
service), internet and telephone (also fully FIOS digital as of today)
that includes unlimited local and long distance in the US and Canada
for under $100/month.

My connection just gets better and better... three weeks now and my
speedtest connections are less than 300kbs download and 200kbs up.  All I
can say is I better not be expected to pay a full months bill this month.

I could do that now with COMCAST, but I chose the Vontage phone over
cable for $25 month unlimited. It was a little buggy at first, but it's
been fine lately.

It's better but it's not fine yet, John...   you were still breaking
up a bit the last time we talked but it was not so much that I could
not understand you.

Just checked my Comcast cable 7.1 meg download tonight. It seems like it
gets faster every few months.

I ran the test on my machine and also Debbie's.  Hers is still hooked
up to the comcast cable modem (I have not set up here e-mail boxes and
such yet).   Mine clocked in at 15.585 MPS down and 1.867 MPS up...
it is supposed to be 15 and 2 so I am not too upset about it.

For sh.ts and giggles, I went in and checked Debbie's machine and it
ABSOLUTELY kicked the fiber optic's a.s on download at 17.276 MPS down
but was considerably slower at 737 KPS on the upside.  I find that odd
as my cable is SUPPOSED to be about 3 MPS on the download side.  I was
so shocked, I ran the test 5 times on hers and these numbers are the
SLOWEST for download.

Here's the reason:

"In an effort to fend off competition from Verizon's FiOS service, which
offers download speeds of up to 15Mbit per second, Comcast has doubled
the speed of its top-tier broadband service to 16Mbit. The change is
currently being rolled out in a few markets, including Reston, Va.;
Sarasota, Fla.; Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Howard County, Md."
