Lou, good luck on the tail light lenses, those things make hens teeth
look common.

I got tail light lenses, everyone wants them until $$ involved, I
should give them away, then beat myself for even asking $$$ for them.
I have accepted that everything I have is crap and everyone else's
stuff is gold, imagine that, eh?

Quite the dichotomy you have there Jeff. So do you have a "buy it now"
price?

Tell you what, first time I found some, they were $75.00 a piece - last time
I found some, they were $150.00 a piece!  Delicate little things, be sure to
reinforce the ones you get around the inside of the screw holes before you
put any on - they crack quite easily!  And as anyone here will tell you, the
new rubber gaskets are not quite as thin as the originals, making it fun to
get it all put together.
My 61 is back from the paint shop, I have the headliner in and will be
working on getting the windshield back in today.

Did you replace the windlace? If so any tips? Looks like the headliner
has to come out, which I'm hesitant to do because it's almost perfect
and I don''t want to screw it up. Lou

Yep, replaced the windlace - which you have to do first, then put the B
pillar covers/panels in place, then the metal clamp/teeth strips to feed
the headliner into... in other words, good luck getting the windlace in
without taking the whole thing apart.  It is held in place by triangle
"teeth" or dags that are part of the body metal.  They are pressed down
over the edge of the windlace, and are well hidden behind the metal
teeth strips that hold the edge of the headliner.  My current issue is
that the windshield rubber is smaller than the windshield.  I am hanging
it in the sun to see if I can get some stretch out if it.

That's what I was afraid of,part of my windlace looks like someone put
something on it to harden it up,it has kept it in one pc.I don't know
what they used, maybe some type of glue. Imight try to treat the rest
of it temporarily, until I can get it replaced. Lou

Mine was hard - cooked like that in the sun, I think.

put a small bead of clear silicone RTV on lense gasket area, let it
cure overnight, then install with new gaskets and do not musclefuk
screws.
