Have you guys ever seen or even heard of a Rube Goldberg rig like this??

It's an after market item to muffle valve noise for pre 62 V8.I would't
install them. They fit between the valve cover studs and the underside
of the valve cover. Made for people too lazy to adjust valve clearence

Those were used quite a bit in the earlier days of OHV egines.
Especially on Chevy 'Stovebolt' sixes. At least one company also
pushed the protection from sludge build-up by eliminating condensation
under the valve cover.
