Going from home on the freeway with 2 lanes each direction on the way
to the car races, I was all alone - nothing to see either ahead or
behind.
As there may be traffic entering at the next ramp (uphill), I slowly
drifted to the left to leave room for any joining vehicles to have an
easy time.
As I was about halfway into the left lane, there's the frantic sound
of a motorcycle horn next to my left knee.
I whip the car to the right without looking, sliding the rear, then
straighten it out then whip-snapping almost back into the left lane.
Then I realize that there is a motorcycle ad on the radio!

I absolutely hate that... since I'm always driving in heavy traffic,
any SFX on the radio of a police siren, screeching tires, etc. always
creeps me out.

I sold a '60 Hawk to a funny little fellow a few years ago. He didn't want
a radio in the car because when he had a '53 he got so involved with the
music on the radio that he lost control and wrecked the car. He was a music
professor at a small college.

Sure enough, it has a front clip.
Friends don't let friends ride with musicians.
I've been alarmed by special recording effects ever since Artie Shaw started
doing that siren thing with his clarinet...

I webt by ny exit on 128 while listening to "Bolero" in the late
1960s. I can relate. Same with "Sing, Sing, Sing"

Well...
I put the first crack in the dash of a Fiat 128 listening to "We are the
Champions" by Queen.

I blew out the speaker in my '62 Lark when Queens of the Stone Age came
on the radio, does that count?
