I have some extra wires under the hood.  I was able to determine most of
what goes where, but which side of the coil does the wire from the ignition
switch (key) go to?  Does it matter?  Usually a coil will have a few letters
on it, not just "made in USA". (previous owner removed some wires, cut some
wires.  Honest--it wasn't me).

Then while looking at that upside down thing, I find still another wire to
figure out, coming from the silver cigar holder on the side of the coil.
It's been cut.  Where does that go?

After that, I have 2 14 or 16 ga wires to figure out.  Already figured out
the horn relay wiring.

Sorry for these ignorant questions.  Maybe some of us should never be
allowed to pick up a wrench or use a meter.

btw if anybody is interested, the motor IS free, and the rebuilt starter
turns it fine.

ASSuming that it is still 6V positive ground, the wire from the
ignition key should go to the negative side of the coil.  The positive
side of the coil should go to the points.

that's just a RFI suppression condensor, you can leave that
unconnected until you get everything working correctly.

Thanks!
Still 6V PG.  Now to figure out the negative side of the coil.

There should be a + & - near the posts. Maybe in the plastic at the base of
the posts.
