Sometimes, especially if the seller has a good feedback rating, it's
best to give him the benefit of the doubt.
I bought a laptop last week and after payment was made, I lost contact
with the seller as several attempts to contact went unanswered. Today, I
recieved an email that the item was shipped when payment was received
and that I should get it on Wednesday.
Again, this seller had a 99% positive feedback rating and had been a
member of eBay since 2002.
Now, if I haven't received by Thursday, I will start to panic..
Been some awful weather in the midwest lately. Maybe that tranny got
tossed into a field somewhar...

The guy has an excellent feedback rating and has sold a bunch of stuff,
been a member of eBay since 1999 and he's a Studebaker guy (don't have a
copy of the roster so I don't know if he's in the club but he has
Studes), so I really do want to give him the benefit of the doubt.
They did have some REALLY nasty weather in Tennessee (tornadoes)... but
I just checked and he listed some items today, so he ought to be able to
answer my email!

Jeff, maybe you should contact the guy via eBay using the "contact seller" link on one of
his other auctions. He could have his SPAM filter set wrong, and may not be seeing your
e-mails.
Or use another e-mail address to try again.

If you file with PayPal that he is not responding and did not send you
the item you are putting any bad marks against him. You are giving
him time to respond and if he does not you get your money back.

Thanks everyone, I finally heard from them. There was a medical problem
in the family and they promised the transmission would ship Saturday. I
checked with PayPal and you can file a dispute up to 45 days after payment.
I've asked them to give me the tracking number when they get it and
there will still be plenty of time to initiate a dispute if it comes to
that.
Thanks!

...and guess what? My notebook, (mentioned previously), arrived today
as promised and it is perfect!

In reading this I realize there is an error in my statement. I meant
to say that:

the item you are NOT putting any bad marks against him.

Yep, I read the directions and realized that. It seems like one of the
things that dispute function is for is situations exactly like this.
However it looks like things may be OK.
Thanks!
