Thank You BobJ
I live in Osceola IN which is a small town east of South Bend Indiana. I went
to technical school in South Bend and while there was given a few sets of
blueprints for the Studebaker assembly plant in
NJ. I had left them in my parents basement for 20 some odd years and just
found them yesterday.
The only info I had been able to come up with is that they built a plant in
the east but it was sold before it was ever used as a Studebaker assy plant.

I read about it somewhere.  Probably built during  WWII and
I'm sure it was used for production but it was sold later in
the 50's

In the book "The Studebaker Century" it mentions the production of J-47
jet engines for the B-47 as having taken place in the Chippewa and
Brunswick, NJ plants.

There was an article in Turning Wheels some years back about the plant.
I think it was sold to Chrysler or Ford.

The blueprints I have are all dated in 1950. They were drawn up by Sollit
Constuction Co in
Southe Bend Indiana. They include plan views, elevation drawings and survey
drawings of the
New Brunswick site. I have left a message with the Curator of the Studebaker
Museum
in South Bend to see if they want them but he has not returned my call as of
yet.

Good luck at getting a reply. Our club has given several thousand dollars to
the museum and have never been recognized for it. I don't have much faith in
the management there. We were going to purchase bricks for our members that
have passed on, but I don't know about now.

That is kinda the feeling I am getting from them also. If I don't here
anything in a week
the plans may end up on ebay.

If you start talking about locations that assembled Studebakers, you
have a bunch who did that while assembling other makes. (Every one of
a particular Porsche was assembled by a plant that also assembled
Studebakers. I wonder if N8 can tell us which Porsche that was? I
don't even know if Dick Quinn can.)
