I never liked comedians who use vulgar language, but when I saw this
George Carlin videoit didn't bother me. Why????
I think that in the Carlin video, the vulgar language is a subtext for
something that is even more vulgar and that makes it appropriate,
somehow.
I never realized what an absolute genious George Carlin was until I
saw this particular video. Every single nuance, every single movement,
and most importantly, the tone of his voice shapes the reaction to the
words he uses -quite a remarkable and astounding messenger, isn't he?

Good comedian... Yes.
Good messenger? Nope.
This is the only country in the world that would allow him to travel
all over and 'perform' his political diatribe (with a few jokes tossed
in).
To you, he's a genius because he speaks about what you believe in.
But he is only talking to you, and your group.
And he is depending on that fact to make a living.
Sure, there is a lot of good points in his schtick.
But don't call it a stand up comedy routine.
And don't call it brilliant.
He is taking his past notoriety as a comedian and jumping fences to
promote a political agenda or stance.
I don't like to see the two venue's welded together.
And your attempt to be the welder on a forum doesn't exactly fly in my
book either.
But....
It's a free country, so weld away...( I have my welding goggles
on<lol>)..

Best? I wouldn't even put Carlin in the top ten, his vulgarity was more for
shock value than humor.
Real comedians like Jonathan Winters and Red Skelton could make naughty
innuendo with words and facial expressions without being outright vulgar.
That's the sign of a true performer.
