Please do your best to rub it in.
The Republicans deserve it.

The Republicans have a lot of work to do to take their party back and
restore it to what it once was. I wish them well.

The past Pat/Alex/Barry "debates" pale in to insignificance compared to some
other NGs re political "chat".  Take a look at the several threads running
on rec.outdoors.rv-travel.  Look especially at anything posted by Will
(signature line is "Will - The self-appointed Curmudgeon of Sill Hill").

Boy, are you on the spot as regards the RV group!

Some of the flames there were pure oxy-acetylene in heat index..

OTOH, I have a view that the congress will change drastically in 2010
much like 1994.

For now, I'm just gonna sit back and watch the show!

Best Regards to everyone!

Andrew Sullivan, a US-based right-wing writer for the Su8nday Times,
said that an Obama victory is the best that
could happen for the GOP and that he was backing the Dems.(I don't
know if he has dual-citizensship.)
I read him faithfully during me eight years in GB and found him to be
quite astute.

Karl

BTW, there is no such newspaper as "The Times of London" or "The
London Times.'
There is a newspaper printed near London called 'The Times". or :"The
Sunday Times."
You may hear a Brit using the "of London" bit, but only when talking
to an ignorant (n the true meaning of the word) Yank.
(It used to be a great paper.)

And, you're right.  The rebubs made their own bed.

Amen!  Trying to fight the far left with a left of Center RINO worked like
airbrakes on a jackass.

I am writing my newly elected congressman (first term Glenn Thompson R.)
tonight to congratulate him on his 50-47 win over a Dem.

And to warn him to stand firm against the bullshit that Pelosi and Co. will
try to bulldoze over him.
'Cause if he don't I'll vote for his opponent in 2010.

Ann nails it:

The Republicans lost this presidential election, and I don't blame the
messenger; I blame the message. How could Republicans go after B. Hussein
Obama (as he is now known) on planning to bankrupt the coal companies when
McCain supports the exact same cap and trade policies and earnestly believes
in global warming?

How could we go after Obama for his illegal alien aunt and for supporting
driver's licenses for illegal aliens when McCain fanatically pushed amnesty
along with his good friend Teddy Kennedy?

How could we go after Obama for Jeremiah Wright when McCain denounced any
Republicans who did so?

How could we go after Obama for planning to hike taxes on the "rich," when
McCain was the only Republican to vote against both of Bush's tax cuts on
the grounds that they were tax cuts for the rich?

And why should Republican activists slave away working for McCain when he
has personally, viciously attacked: John O'Neill and the Swift Boat
Veterans, National Right to Life director Doug Johnson, evangelical pastors
Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson and John Hagee, various conservative talk radio
hosts, the Tennessee Republican Party and on and on and on?

http://www.anncoulter.com/

For now, we have a new president-elect. In the spirit of reaching across the
aisle, we owe it to the Democrats to show their president the exact same
kind of respect and loyalty that they have shown our recent Republican
president.

Bushitler, Shrub, Chimpy McHaliburton... any of that ring a bell?

You may find this strange but I also enjoy (for the most part) the
rantings of Camille Paglia, (Drudge often provides the link), especially
when she rips the Democrats even though she's a libera.  She's usually
dead nutz on...

rubes will suck her drippings up and thirst for more! LOL..........
As a consequence, she ladels it out and charges for it. Hey! It's the
Rethug way! Shovel on whatever the rubes will pay for and laugh all
the way to your government-revived bank.  LMAO!  Ann Limbaugh, yeah,
that sounds Right.

According to exit polls, lots of traditioal Republicans shifted to
Obama for this eelection. I almost did,
(By then, I had registered as Dem to vote in the Dem Primary for a
retired SEAL CDR)
but went for Nader, expecting to be the only one in my precinct.
That joke of a VP candidate becoming Pres in a few months did it.
It was after that foolishness tat I saw that my favorite  rightwing
columnist did his Ten Reasons 'Why Conservatives Should Vote For
Obama.'
My ballot hd reached the register of voters by then.
WayneC - 08 Nov 2008 17:51 GMT
If Andrew Sullivan is your favorite "conservative" columnist,
then you are currently registered in the proper party, because
you aren't a conservative (probably never were) and neither is he.
And Palin is a more experienced leader than the guy that got voted in.

As you no doubt saw in that article,prniciples/theories he mentioned
were right-wing ' common sense.'
He does not belittle people in a school-boy manner, as do most
rightwing commenttors today, whom I therefore avoid.
He may belittle the principle- not the speaker.
Most of the ones I recallf of the modern type seem not to have passed
a course in Logic.
If it doesn't sound like ssomething Barry Goldwater would write/say, I
will question it.
BTW, I guess that I can remove "AU H2O" from the raar bumper of the
Commander now.

Without a doubt!

Still, we just need to make the most of the next four years beginning
with a Republican controlled Congress in 2010.

Oh, I forgot to ask the last time: which of the ten reasons Sullivan
gave for voting for Obama goes  against traditional Conservative
theory.
(Excluding the really short one <g>)

Why would I gloat here?

I did save all the addresses of those who took the time to send or
forward lies and ofttimes racist propaganda - and I sent each and
every one of them this:

Thank You

We couldn't have done it without you. The people who went out of their
way to spread lies, half-truths and innuendo about Barack and Michelle
Obama galvanized a nation who might otherwise have remained
complacent. You brought out the vote for us in a way we simply could
not have done on our own.

The youth vote, the minority vote and not least the truly spiritual
among the electorate who saw through the calumny and venom spewed by
those who claimed the mantle of Christ rose up as one to reject the
falsehoods and elevate truth.

I am humbled.

Please - do it again in 2012.

Beautiful Pat.  I wish I had done that to all the people who sent/forwarded
such nasty emails.  I nearly wore out Snopes pointing out their "errors".
Even John McCain took a supporter to task for calling Obama an Arab.

What pleased me is that all GOP Governors running for re-election made

WARNING, RIGHT WING RANT!
Now, if only we can get rid of the Dumocrat we have as Oregon's Governor,
who feels the need to create big square no fishing boxes off the coast,
wants all of us to bicycle to work, and keeps spending MY money on pet
projects that just puts us more into debt but don't really fix any kind of
infrastructure - AND has forced us to use 10% alcohol in our gasoline,
"which really helps the environment and farmers".   Funny, but if you take
down the fuel economy of a vehicle, you have to burn more fuel, so how does
that help?  But alas, the Oregon lefties living in and driven by Californian
lefties who moved to Portland, Salem and Eugene (the Willamette Valley) tend
to run things here - and tax the sh.t out of everyone and continue to drive
companies away to other states and/or countries.  It wasn't President Bush
who drove Nike away - or any of the others.  Hewlett Pachard is shutting
down their big plant in Corvallis - that will be a BIG hit.  But, Obama is
here, and the sun will shine, and according to a woman back east, we won't
have to pay for our houses or cars anymore!
I didn't see any right wing rants, only left, so I figured I would try to
balance the scales.

I haven't been able to post here since about July. Some stupid new
thing with Verizon. They only want to let you post to the Big-8
Newsgroup hierarchies.
I'll try this through Google groups. But I have mostly moved on. I
rarely post to the SDC site. It seems nice, I just have less time.
Pat did a great job with his reply to this thread. I haven't been able
to reach him by email, so it is great to see he is still around.
I took keep all the baloney email from those who swallowed all the
right wing lies. I kept Snopes busy with all the rebuttals.
The funniest one by far was the fools who believed and passed on email
that claimed Obama was mostly Arab with very little African blood. I
guess some people just were so scared they would believe anything even
when their own eyes should have told them the truth.
