...anyone see this the other night  A whole hour of 'Classic
Cars in Cuba'... and only one shot of a 54 sedan in a garage..
At least they admitted to using fork lift engines in a
lot of the cars.  One of the stars of the show was a 56 Cad,
with a large floor shift and altho' they never admitted to
having one in it, but it sure sounded like it.

was flipping thru the channels......think it was just network news spot
on life in Cuba, not the show you're talking about.  anyway, they
illustrate the "old American cars" theme with a shot of a '55 Packard
Patrician pulling out of a parking space.  Yikes!  They were hard enough
to keep running right 50 years ago!  and in the US where there are some
parts left!  But it was level, so the suspension must still work.  Would
be fun to know the history of cars like that:  who would have had such a
car there when new......who could afford the gas as it got older, etc.

and....yesterday, old repeat on "Tales of the Darkside" starring the guy
who played the judge on Night Court........driving a nice '63 Stude: 4
door, white   (not a Cruiser:  said "Lark" on front
fender......considerable chrome so what would that be, a Regal?).

I'm going to get down there someday. I feel that I got cheated out if
it in 1959 and want to make it before I croak.
Hope I can find a Stude like I've legally had as DDs '40 Pres, 51
Champion, '55 Conestoga, '60 Lark, '64 Cdr and others that may have
fallen off the memory disk.

Saw a news report about Cuba couple weeks ago. In the background there
was a 57-58 Buick going down the street, it had a custom grille and a
straight axle from a pickup truck under the front end.

You can get to Cuba from Mexico.  They stamp a piece of
paper and slide it in and out of your papers

That's one way,  but there are safer ways.
