Hi!
I am contemplating buying a Hawk GT 62, and here is the numbers I
could get from the current owner:
Studebaker Serial / VIN #: 62V-15386
V8 Engine S/N: 1554641 ,
Side of head : 535976 ,
On Intake Manifold : 1547530 ,
Transmission : T10-7B or H-4-1
Could somebody tell me if it is a 4-manual transmission, and which
kind of V8 is in the car?
Thanks and aloha,
Chris

I thought someone would respond by now. The number shown for the engine is
a part number. The engine serial number is stamped on a flat machined area
on the upper front of the engine near where the radiator hose inlet is.
However, all '62 Hawks came with a Studebaker-built 289 cubic inch engine.
The engine number should begin with the letter "P". T-10 would be a
four-speed manual floor shifted transmission.
The best place for information now is on the Studebaker Forum- easy to read,
lots of expertise and helpful information. See:
