Truck is in the Daytona area. It had a 4 banger (what for lunch). It should
go cheap!

It was on ebay last year(In a Northeast state, NY or Penn). The only
trucks with 4 bangers(post WWII) were the big trucks with GM 4-71's.
Last year it had a stake bed on it. The photo album doesnt work or they
only have one picture of it. They also have NOT replied to email I sent
them.(Out of curiosity, I have too many trucks as it is.<G>)

OK, all you fellow STDs (NOT what you think regarding medical maladys;
I mean Studebaker Truck Detectives!)
Regarding this Champ listing: If the photo album works, you can see 10
photos of this truck. Look real carefully at all of them if you can
access them.
Is it possible that this truck's cab and bed have already been mounted
on an
S-10 chassis? That would account for quite a few oddities: the rear
wheel track versus bed position, the unusual suspended pedals,
possibly some shady details in the chassis that don't seem quite right
(from what you can see; not much, I agree).
Finally, it would account for the ACCURACY of the "4-banger" having
been removed and replaced with a 307! (as in Chevrolet).
Just a thought.
(BTW: Jeff has a good point about location: New Smyrna Beach is
"coastal." I have a friend who visits mutual friends in New Smyrna
Beach and has spent time junk-yarding at an old yard there. He says
everything that has been in that yard more than ten years is rusted on
top paper-thin from the salt air!)
Back to S-10 chassis research...
(Or, since the wheel covers are late-model MoPar, maybe it has been
mounted on an older Dodge Dakota short-bed chassis??)

Hmmmmmmmmmm!!! Good observation Bob! Now that I look at it, the
front bumper seems WAY too high for a stock Champ Truck too.

Also look at the LR 3/4 photo....no rear leaf springs.

No tail light lenses either but its been bid over $1000.
I believe S10's and Dakota's have rear leaf springs.
Maybe a Olds Cutlass chassis.???

At first the wheels do appear to set in but it could just be the camera
angle.
The "dodge" bed doesnt fit or look right anyway.(But I still own three
or four).
I see that no obvious provision for controling the automatic tranny has
been made.
The only suspended pedal I can see is the accelerator.
But you can see the plate on the floor where the originals came thru.
The listing calls it a stake bed truck. The description of the truck and
the sellers ebay same seem to be the same as one on ebay last year in NY
or Penn.
Just because a Champ body does not seem to sit right on the chassis, is
an indicator the Stude chassis is still there.
