A fellow approached me at a car show about a month ago. He said he had some
Studebaker luggage he was thinking about getting rid of. He said he has two
suit cases and one that looks like a hat box. He called me yesterday and
said to come an look at it. My question is. Did Studebaker ever offer
luggage as an option or may a dealer promotion. If this turns out to be
truly Studebaker, what do you think It would be worth. I'm going to look at
it Sat. Sure would like some opinions.
Thanks
Jeff

I had bought an "accessories" manual for my '41 a few years ago ( car and
manual gone now). I believe it did list luggage in that time period - close
enough to your CE to check out!

Hi. To the best of my knowledge. Studebaker DID offer accessory luggage in the
late 30s thru mid 50s. I think they show it in some of the accessory catalogs
of that era. Thanks, Jim

oops. saw the name Jeff and assumed Jeff Rice. If you've got a pre-war
Stude, the same should apply. wouldn't be surprised if the practice went on
for a few years after the war ( like the ventian blinds for the back
window).

Wow! Studebaker did offer matched luggage in the 30's and 40's (I think).
Very, very few pieces have survived. Get them if you can.

Thanks for the replys. The way the guy talked, he just wants to get rid of
them. Could be a good buy.

Found this listing on eBay for Packard luggage. Maybe it will give you some
idea.

If in good shape about $300 to $500 a suitcase, more for the ladies hat box.
Each year had its own designs. The were available pre-war, but non offered in
47 due to material shortage, back in catalog(s) from 48 thu 56. The 48-52
fitted in one way, 53-56 was sized differenty I would kill for two sets, one
for ragtop and one for Hawk
