Who has the torque converter alignment tool that is for lease or rent?
Bad words - but, I'm going to need it.

I believe you are supposed to use them  in the  DG series

I think this is sorta' like the upper outer A-arm eccentric issue.  A
lot have been put together without the tool.  I used to borrow one of
these tools from a SDC mechanic; but he died and his widow has no idea
what I'm talking about.  I may wind up by using the guess method that
other folks use all the time.

Ted,
If the tool you are looking for is for the DG auto tranny used from 1950 to 1955 contact me
privately. I may be able to help out.

There is a converter alignment tool for the Flightomatics but I'm sure most
people do not use one.  I don't know if this is any better than any other way
when not using the tool but I put the six bolts in but not tight, then turn the
engine over and gradually tighten them thinking this might help center it.

I've never used an alignment tool on either the Flight-O-Matics or DG
units.  But I also tend to install them as an assembly.  Never had any
problem in seating the converter/pilot etc.

And I've done most of 'em alone...
