It is a monitored/moderated forum.  Everyone has been very nice (so far).  Yes,
I did see your "<G>".

Just trying to get a reaction from Sonny. . . damn it, Gary you are no fun.
<G>

Sonny knows better. . . He see Rick and looks the other way.  Well, most of
the time.

Next weekend I go back to work on the Sky Hawk so I will be posting
Studebaker Help questions again and of course pictures.
It was a long dry period, but the Sky Hawk is not going to get done by
itself.  And I can't afford the Body Shop prices.  So it's off to work I go.

Sorry to spoil the fun, but I don't "see" Sonny frequenting the newsgroup much
lately.

Bring on the questions.  A Sky Hawk is one of my favorite Studebakers and about
the only Studebaker that I would like that I haven't yet owned.  Bob Bourke's
last gasp at Studebaker.

<G> I'm too old for "free for alls" Gary. I've still seen a few things to
look at though, and I'll be doing that.

Glad that you are here Sonny.  I can understand the "free for all" part.  I
never liked them and I am a decade older than you.

<LOL> I never look the other way Rick, I normally really enjoy your posts,
it's that fella Rice who causes all the problems! <GG>

I'm lookin' forward to seeing your posts Rick. Hey! I just happen to know a
place where help with ANY Studebakering problem is the MAIN focus!
Especially for such a very active like yourself, 'cause I can't think of
many more "Gung Ho" Studebaker fellas. <G>

Someday someone will explain why they think we don't think Studebakers
are the main focus here. We answer every question, post Studebaker news
when we have any, but now and than, football, N8's eating habits and
yes, politics fills the boredom in between Studebaker posts, sorta like
the real world chat among friends.

I think of it here as a buffet.I can choose what I want to serve myself. I
visit the SDC site for a plate full of what I know I'll like and come here
for the surprise dishes.

This NG stays on topic FAR better than the others I read.  I finally
starting blocking posts with the words "Bush" or "Kerry" to reduce the
numbers I had to scroll through.  I'm about ready to fine tune the blocking
to catch more of the off-topic, radical political crap (from both sides).

To the purists, the Sky Hawk is the fisest designed Hawk. It retins a lot of
the original styling, but adds a bit of the new coming trends, like the
Mercedes style grille, a beefed up engine, a better suspension and brakes.

You could load up your Sky Hawk with all the options the GH had including tach,
and vacumn guage.

We owned one for a few months, and then my dad had a series of heart attacks
and the doctors  blamed it on the fact that my dad heaarst could not take the
non powered steering anymore.

He traded it in for the only Studebaker that had power steering from any dealer
in the Westchester area. Thats how we got our 56J

Sonny,

I have no shop or parts manuals left and nothing is wrong with my
Studebaker.
I have no recent experience working on them, but do remember the
occasional bit of useful information, which I add to the thread on the
NG.
Thus, I don't care to scroll through piles of messages in the hopes
that someone has the odd problem where I can add something useful.
It's frustrating to be on little use, unless being there jogs my
memory to come up with some hidden insight from the past.

I do enjoy most items on the NG, and post an occasional one myself.
I don't start a thread which will be disrupting, but if someone else
does, I might add some snide comment, if it's not just parrotting
someone else.

If you're trying to help solve a problem and dig up business for the
SDC forums, I suggest that you add something specific, like this, to
the NG:
"Sam Sham is having trouble with the sagging door handle on his '32
four-seasons. Several attempts to fix it have not worked.
If you have any ideas, see topic XXXX on the SDSC forums."

Give it a try, Sonny

I've been on Rec.crafts.brewing a bit, but this is my place.
I read every single post, and I enjoy 85% of them.
