I'm not commenting on either guys qualifications, just putting out my
best guess and welcome yours and we'll see how we did in a few days. I
see Kerry winning with 290-315 electoral votes. I base it on a close
race today, and the undecided and newly registered voters historically
breaking heavy for the challenger. Wait until Kerry loses to jump on me
if I'm wrong. If we get a October surprise, all bets are off.

Both sides have lawyers ready if the margin is close, hopefully not a repeat of
what happened 4 years ago.
I think this election will break records not only % wise, but in voter turnout
as well.

I can't tell you how many "visits" both canidates made to Pa. recently,as they
feel they need Pa,Fl, and Oh. to win

They need two out of three of those, and I feel sorry for folks in those
states, they have to be sick of the commercials. I don't know about the
other states, but this is the first time Md. has had this many new
registrations and the yard sign wars are getting silly.

Re Yard Sign Wars.   Hell, we have a true, take no prisioners, political war
going on down here:

Many folk in my area (Orlando / Winter Park,FL)  are not putting up yard
signs (or have taken down yard signs) and in particular, not putting
political stickers, in particular "W" or Bush/ Cheney stickers on their cars
due to vandalism.  A close friend has a beautiful two door gloss black
bathtub tastefully flamed Merc flattie lead sled with all the period "Go
Fast" stuff including dual spots and the mandatory Red with White dot dice.
<G>  Some weeks back Bill put the small black background with silver "W"
sticker on each backseat side window.

While we were at the Outback having dinner with Bill and his wife Judy, some
a.s deeply scratched, to the metal, into the paint  F... YOU under one of
the "W" stickers and a.s under the other "W" sticker and seriously dented up
the passanger side spotlight. (A real classic light from the 50's) The car
was parked about 80 feet in front of the Outback near an overhead light
pole...... Now this Merc's Black Paint is (was) just stunning.....  I have
never seen Bill so pissed.......and we have been friends for 18 years......
(He took me to my very first Old Town Sat Night Cruise in his 32 Duce, 18
years ago, two weeks after Linda and I moved into the neighborhood. :<)

This political fueled vandalism  happened in an area which any one of you
would call very very nice.  Where vandalism of any kind is almost non
existent.  Where you can walk on the sidewalks or in parking lots any time
of the day or night and feel safe. Where people often walk up and have asked
me questions (which I love) about my Avanti or Bill about his Merc as we try
to leave the parking lot after dinner :<)

When Linda and I returned home, I immediately took off the two small "W"
stickers from my Avanti's rear flip windows. The next day, the local Repug.
Campaign HQ's was stormed, ransacked and 80 % distroyed (campaign materials,
computers, keyboards, etc.) by 30 or so Kerry Supporters wearing AFL/CIO and
Kerry Buttons.  Two of this group have been arrested on criminal assault
charges. Charges are pending against a dozen additional of these protester
thugs.

Repug's are pissed.  The next day after the local HQ breakin, more
volunteers walked in and offered their help than the Repug's had had all
year!  How do I know,...... Well I'm one of them........ At least 3 hr's per
day for the past few weeks....... Why, cause I'm still pissed everytime I
think of Bill's Bathtub Merc.......and the HQ storming and trashing.....

Spent 25 years in union sheet metal shops,18 as a steward, and saw many a
contract feud. One shop I was working at had a particulary nasty negotiation
going on.We were UAW and a groups of goons were sent up from Chicago to do
what goons do.Soon after the plants office was ransacked. They blamed the
goons naturally but the perps were caught and as it turned out were hired by
the plant to create public outrage at supposed UAW tactics.I'll grant that
it very well may have been done by who you think but in this hotly contested
election I also trust neither left nor right not to scoop down to any low
level.

I've no doubt that's happened, but there is a pattern of AFL-CIO union
goons behaving like this.  It also happened in Illinois, Tennessee and I
believe in a few other places.

These brown shirt, Demounion thugs need to be put in jail for a LONG
time, as should the people directing them.  This is nothing but
attempted voter intimidation.

Oh I certainly agree Bob.  In this case one of the three volunteers in the
campaign office had a small dgital camera in his pocket which he palmed and
began taking pictures of what was going on including the lug who busted down
the door and broke a volunteers wrist and another picture of this fat assed
lady pushing -- almost tossing -- another office volunteer into the offices
plate glass window which faces the street.  Those two folks, who professed
innocence, were on caught in the act and are the two cooling their heels in
the Orange County Jail charged with felony assault plus other stuff.
Several others have been charged with vandalism, theft of property (disks
containing republician mailing lists, addresses and phone numbers, campaign
materials, etc), disorderly conduct, etc.

There will not be any further public court appearances by any of these apes
untill after the election.

Several other similar actions happened the same day.  One over in the Tampa
area and one in the Ft.Lauderdale area and one up in Tennessee.

The call to this type of protesting was on the AFL/CIO web site with a link
to the DNC web site.  It was removed within the hour after the Orlando
violence had taken place.

The head of the RNC, Marc Raciott, wrote a letter to Sweney, head of the
AFL/CIO asking them to stop the attacks.
Sweeny went on the air professing that all they called for was a peaceful
protest and picketing and if something else happened, it was not the Union's
fault. The DNC also came back with a similar response.

Legal papers are flying back and forth.  I fully expect the AFL/CIO and the
DNC will settle with the two Repug volunteers
that were injured and I expect the $ to be substantial -- somewhere between
$3 and $5 million -- per my across the street neighbor who is one of the
legal aces involved.  Part of the agreement will remove the AFL and DNC from
further liability.

Still, the two apes, one male and one female, that performed the felony
assault will be prosecuted per the Orlando PD and the Orange County Sheriff.

Like the Bush Administration, the Laci Peterson law is as big a joke
as the attempt to impeach Clinton.
