Jeff Rice - 24 Oct 2004 19:17 GMT Wow... All the Studenuts must be out gathering nuts to store up for the winter... Checked the NG.....nothing!
It's 80 degrees out. The wife is inside painting. My chores are done. I'm going out for a cruise to the store. Dunno which store, either <g> Jeff

[quoted text clipped - 6 lines] > Dunno which store, either <g> > Jeff Lee Aanderud - 24 Oct 2004 21:15 GMT I'm spending Day 2 (well 2nd full day) redoing my main bathroom... stripped floor to ceiling sky & cloud wallpaper on Wednesday - Friday, pulled the toilet, fixed drywall from semi-botched first wallpaper job, sanding lots of joint compound, new light fixture over sink, priming all of the raw drywall, sizing where I'll be wallpapering, painting above the sizing line, and now dreading on starting the half-wall of wallpaper (never done this before). Spent half the morning just cleaning up from the sanding marathon I had yesterday. Good news is as anal as I was about the flatness of the wall where touched up, after the first coat of paint I can't see any repairs.
Lee (damn I need to dust)

Got done with a front end rebuild on a Cruiser and it made a MESS of the garage. It's hard to believe how many tools a guy gets out doing such a simple job of springs, bushings, and king pins! Trying to get it clean enough to tackle Brad Treganowan's '61 Hawk in the morning. I KNOW the garage will never be clean enough for that car <G>

Transtar60 - 24 Oct 2004 21:55 GMT Finally put the seat covers on the '60 1 tons seats. Bought the covers last March from JP. Since the cold wet gray rainy skies moved out over nite, and its in the sunny 70's today, looked like an opportune time to install them. Before it turns cold.
Argh! Winters coming, again.

Fine tuning my resume for what will be my last real job... (I hope)!

Jeff Rice - 25 Oct 2004 01:27 GMT Never went out cruzin'... Fixed the shop door that was damaged in the hurricane (by my foot)... Put some stuff away... Started scraping and analyzing the bodywork to do on the Bob40 p/u box. Scraped the tar goo off of it and removed the tailgate. Helped the wife with the middle bathroom renovation. Packed for tomorrow's Buffaloono trip. Went to the recycle center and purged again... Must have dumped 7 gallons of old oil in all sorts of jugs... Cleaned up the truck a bit... There's a local show the same night I get home, so it's better to get ready now. Jeff (I need a hinge engineer..) Rice
Bob Palma - 25 Oct 2004 00:50 GMT I'm almost afraid to see what Calvin is going to do with that opening line<G>.

Dave's Place - 25 Oct 2004 02:36 GMT Got home, read the Sunday papers, fell asleep in the recliner, got up, and burned a brush pile.
Almost used too much fuel to fire it off, but I still have all my hair. Well, that I had when I started the fire, anyway.

Dick S. - 25 Oct 2004 03:37 GMT Got two semi loads of gravel delivered, oversaw the skid loader guys level it out.. Changed oil in the T-Cab for the winter, laid plastic under the T-Cab, C-cab and Avanti... Took the Avanti and T-cab to get their tanks full, with Sta-Bil, greased the 61 and Avanti, Got moth balls in them all, (buggers were tough to yank off the moths).... And got the gas tank outlet threads from the 49 tapped out so it would take the new gas line... (tank for the 49 won't get filled until spring, when gas is $3.00). Found that the T-Cab has a gas leak in the tank when full.... Dang... Had to drive around and burn off a couple of gallons..... Shop cat kept me company the whole time. Whew! It's Miller time. Not all events were in that order.. ;-) Dick S. 63 Avanti 61 T-Cab 49 2R5

Grumpy au Contraire - 25 Oct 2004 06:00 GMT That T-Cab fuel leak might be the sending unit gasket due to incompatibility problems with modern gasoline. My truck leaks too and I suspect that's the cause...

I don't think it helped when she entered the car, lifted up to re-adjust herself in the seat, and about took her forehead off with the rear view mirror. Starlight's are not as tall inside as Navigators. <G>

[quoted text clipped - 6 lines] > Dunno which store, either <g> > Jeff Freddy Badgett - 25 Oct 2004 13:41 GMT Fast Sunday! Went to Farmington Dragway to help youngest son Adam race his car ,the Hyper-Bug, a 65 VW sedan. 1641 cc's 100 cubic inches , all VW engine. Fellow newsgrouper Perry Brown appeared and seemed to really enjoy himself. Adam's best pass was 7.01 at 99 MPH (1/8 mile race) 1.50 60 foot time with a .525 reaction time on a .500 tree.(.025,real good!) The car had more, but the brand new clutch didn't!The old clutch had 40 passes and was still working, but 40 is about the limit. Same exact clutch installed, only made 2 good passes, then slipped. It was still fun and a good day. In honor of OCF, we stopped at the Chinese buffet on the way home.
