Numerous Studebakers.  I get there by typing Joyrides into Google.  It
is the detnews, Detroit News car show site. About the third from the
top of the list.  I think the site is unusually nice, almost every
week there is a new feature section.  KK

Did anyone notice that the story mentioned that a 1931 Studebaker President
Four Seasons Roadster sold for $192,500?

Nice display.

What ever happened to Homer Fitterlings 26 Duesenbergs?

Thanks, Dusty. Nice story.

I took my Dad to that museum immediately before it closed, having
heard so much about it and not wanting to miss it. Definitely a day
well spent. As has been reported many times elsewhere, every car in
there was perfect.

Well, maybe not every one... if S. Ray Miller had restored a
Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk to those standards, he might have gotten
as high as 375 points at an SDC National Meet! <G> Sadly, S. Ray never
took on that challenge. Maybe that was so much the better; viewing his
Judging Sheet might have given him "the big one" early on...

BTW, The Studebaker National Museum has benefitted from the Miller
Museum's closing. Anyone who ever visited the Miller Museum knows how
beautifully and creatively the cars were displayed. The man in charge
of that was Don Filly, I believe. (Not exactly sure of the name and
spelling, so corrections are welcome...although I've met Don at a
Museum function. Nice guy.)

Anyway, Don is now working for The Studebaker National Museum and is
responsible for many of the great displays they now have. Don's work
will likely "come into its own" when the new Studebaker National
Museum is done, and for that we should be thankful. BP

The SNM also bought one of the cars.  I seem to remember it as a '34 roadster
(without going back to look it up).  Like the rest, it appears to be perfect.
