They have it all in the Empire State...
Just drove by a billboard advertising "Ho-Mart"
Said they were 'open 24 hours', and 'always fresh'.

Go ahead Jeff!,make me homesick.I spent most of my career pounding the streets
of NYC doing field service.

Did you happen to notice all of the "video" stores on every corner?? Even
worse, take a look and what comes out of the gin mills in the area of NY's Port
Authority

Buffalo isn't exactly close <lol>..
I have to run up to Brooklyn again fairly soon, so you'll get a call if I
can swing the free time.
Went out to eats with Sonny tonight and had one of those exquisite Buffalo
style roast beef sandwich on those wacky named rolls (with the salt on
them).. Don't remember the name, but they were good.
Colder than snot here... Frost warning tonight..
After tomorrow, I am outa here!

Yep...
78 degree's... Ahhhhh...
As a side note...
Colors were awesome.
Drove from Buffalo to Ocala yesterday and today.
Color's all done up north, but watched the pattern and colors change as I
headed south.
Also noticed the quantity and size of the dead deer along the road change.
Pennsylvania deer get more mangled than West Virginia deer.
Must've seen 200 deer smucked along the road.
Jeff (the economy must be good, in Wisconsin they're gone in an hour <lol>)

I spent a good part of last week driving around PA and I couldn't
believe how those poor critters get mangled.  Down here they get hit and
knocked off of the road, up there it looks like they get put through a
shredder.

No Stude sightings but a lot of beautiful countryside, and Steamtown is
REALLY cool!

'Cause we get so pissed off the damn stupid critters commit suicide on our
cars, we back up and run over the carcass ten or twenty times, just to get a
little vengeance!

In '68 or so I was driving along a highway in the Morristown, NJ area
and my headlights picked up the reflection of a deer's eyes in the
road - damn close in front of me. I remembered hearing that it was a
good idea to turn off the headlights to unfreeze the deer so as not to
hit it.
I did and when I got to the spot where it was, it wasn't.
Is that the right thing to do or was it just blind luck (no
intentiuonal pun.)?

Karl this will start a debate but I wouldn't turn off headlights but I do
believe in the deer whistle's.  I have witnessed many incidents where the deer
stop at the roadside or turn and run when they hear the approaching strange
noise made by the whistle's.

As I said John, my statement about deer whistle's will open a debate.  They
certainly work for me regardless of the good professor's scientific
study.  I wonder how many year's he has been a deer hunter and observed their
reactions when startled.  Their reaction is flight not fight.
