One thing that really impressed me at the PSW Zone meet was the 1956 President
Classic with Studebaker factory air. The color was a pleasing Turquise and
White and the car was beautifully done. It was for sale at the zone meet.

Later in the day I met Ebon and he had brought that car from Texas. I had to
stop drooling over it long enough to tell him it such a nice car. He said he
was flexible on the down payment! If I had the a good situation, it would be
sitting in my driveway right now.

If anybody wants a drop dead gorgeous car that needs nothing but to drive and
enjoy, get a hold of Ebon. The miles of smiles and thumbs up you would get by
driving that car would be worth it.

I already like it and haven't even seen it.That color combo on a 56 Pres
would be cool, and so would the air.Ive driven in my friends 55 Commander, and
like the way those big cars ride.It sure would be the car to go on a 1000
mile trip in hot weather in.

Thanks, Bob. You're correct, all it needs is a driver. I change the oil in
her today.
The engine was not overhaul, it was rebuilt. New pistons, valves and guides,
and all the rest that it takes to rebuild one. But when you rebuild an old
car, I don't think it's ever finished. The paint is only two years old but
as a driver, it has some rock chips. One of the last thing done to her was a
windshield washer added. Hold the foot pump down and the wipers swipe till
you release it.
The only thing I need to do to the car is a new seal in the power steering
pump, leaks a little. And small leaks grow to larger leaks.

That was a gorgeous car. I got one picture of it with the hood up, but never
could catch Ebon around to take one with the hood closed.

You don't know how to close a hood?? <G>

Ebon was nice enough to forward something on to his dad for me and
also came up to introduce himself at the banquet.
Nice guy, I'd say.
Sorry I forgot to introduce him to Marilyn, the fellow-Texan with me.

Sounds like a very nice car.  My first Studebaker was a '57 President Classic
in turquoise and white.   Maybe it was a good thing that I only attended the
Board Meeting via conference call <G>.
