I need a nose piece for a Champ.  NOS or perfect used.  It's the sheet metal
piece that the grill, park light housings, and headlights attach to.  '59-'60
Lark will also work.  Thought I'd check here with you guys first before calling
Dennis tomorrow
Ebon  Jones - 27 Oct 2004 03:18 GMT
I have one. Would you like it off a two door or 4 59-60 Lark??

hmmm...they're both the same in the nose. which one do you want to part out? It
has to be dent and rust free though.
Give me a good brother in law price and I think it might fit on the bus.
Second thought....exnay on the brother in law deal.....just make it a good
NG'er deal..:)
John Poulos - 27 Oct 2004 03:40 GMT
You know they are different than the car because of the bumper.

Nope, there is a cut-out for the truck frame...easy enough to make
them though.

'63 won't work from a car

Actually it will.  My '64 Champ had a '63 sedan front panel- bolted right
on.  It was necessary to make some minor modifications due to the dual vs
single headlights, but it wasn't hard.  I mounted a sedan chrome bumper too.
I didn't like the way the truck bumper looked.

What did you do for a hood since the front of the hood does not match
the late nose ? ( I know because Nate and I fought that issue.)

I'm drawing a total blank on that question (CRS and 35 years ago).  I do
remember that the hood was propped, not torsion sprung like the '61 and
later hoods.

I use a later model hood latch/assy.  I installed a cable from a later
model as well.  Works perfectly.  If someone wants to steal a battery,
they'll hafta break a window...

Yeah, the truck bumper sits too low and exposes the accommodation of the
front panel for the passenger bumper.  I always thought of fabricating a
truck bumper to cover it...

NOS are still floating around for less than $100.00, check with Dennis.
Arkiejazz - 27 Oct 2004 13:22 GMT
Anybody got the part # for the Champ part?
Transtar60 - 27 Oct 2004 18:54 GMT
Illustration # 0502-23, 1655681P Panel, radiator grille
The illustration(Page 95 Plate 05-5) ironically is of the car part as it
doesnt show the frame cutouts on the truck part.

Car part will work, after a little triming w/ tin snips

I checked with Dennis (SASCO) a few weeks ago and I was told that he didn't
have any more panels for the "T" cabs.. Just for cars in stock..

Ahh! They don't like you either, I just thought it was Dad they didn't like.
They never have any thing Dad wants or needs.
