A NG got me a phone number for David Barrett's (50studechamp)
parents to try and find out what happened to my ebay order. A few days
back they said they'd  ask David, now they tell me he's just had a heart
attack, so who knows what's going on with my $250. I sure don't want to
bother the family if he's in ill health, so I guess I just wait.

Hmmm, What if that happened to some people in SDC? Maybe the club
should have "key-man" insurance on some of our people.
At least we could hire professionals to take over for the duration..

(THIS MAY BE A REPEAT.)
I wonder what would happen if some of our SDC people had such a problem.
Maybe we should have "key-man" insurance to tide us over for the duration.

I have a cousin "Vito" that would happily supply insurance!!!
All decisions that Vito makes are pretty final tho.

Compassion, wait a little bit. After all, its only $250.
Imagine what a heel you would have looked like if he had died.

Ok, I take it back, how old is this guy anyway? He has been selling Kid Rock
stuff on Ebay. If it is my way  of thinking, he's not that old. Also parents
still living.Lost mine years ago and I'm not that old. Also no negs on
feedback for Ebay. So much for my 2 cents worth, what else can you do besides
wait. Or amend your feedback on ebay.

J P,

The guy has lots of heart attacks. That's the same excuse that he used
with me 6 months ago.  I too, didn't want to put additional stress on
him because of his illness so I didn't pressure him.  Well it's now
been six months and he has not shipped the item nor sent a refund.  I
think that has been adequate time to settle the issue even for a sick
guy.  I have worked with him and his family in every way that I know
and still cannot resolve this problem.
As of now, he still has my money and I have nothing to show for it.

From a business standpoint the terms of the sale have not been met thereby
earning a negative feedback. He can respond to it with his medical reason.
I think a normal person reading feedback would have sense enough to let  a
heart attack slide..........one time.

Thanks, that helped me decide a course of action. I'll call his
parents back and explain I need to report him to PayPal and Ebay before
my 30 days is up. They can than just simply show that he's hospitalized
and we can work it out later.

Well John, we might be talking about the same heart attack, but if so
it happened in May of '04.  I let things slide too long because I
didn't want to pressure a sick guy or his family.  The thing that
spurred me to take action is that he offered what I believe to be the
same item (289 crankshaft) for auction  on Oct 8, '04.  I can't prove
it's the same crankshaft but I doubt that he has two standard 289
crankshafts for sale. At least he feels well enough to have another
auction .

Mom claims this one just happened and he's in the ICU. He may well be,
but I turned it in to ebay to deal with.
