Hi everyone, stupid question time...
We just bought a 1989 XT6 today, got it home, and can't figure out how
to open the fuel door. We've scoured the entire car looking for the
button that opens it. We can't find any free schematics or owner's
manuals online. Can anyone here let us know where it is on the car?
We know it is probably staring us right in the face.
TIA

Not too sure but check the floor next to the driver's seat.

Tried the usual place? On the floor next to the drivers seat? Even the
passenger side?
It's possible that it is linked to the central locking (if any).
Had an old BMW that linked the doors, boot, and fuel cap together on central
locking.
Failing that, get into the boot, possibly manual release tag or similar.
If none of that works, but you can get into the locking mechanism from the
boot, simply use a screwdriver to push back the locking tab and open the
fuel door/watch it spring open.

Left side of driver's seat on the floor. Moved one way and the trunk
opens. Moved the other way and the fuel door opens. Visit www.xt6.net.

Chuckle...based on the age of the vehicle, his last one was from
before they started doing that!
