developing story... part 2

the next morning i checked the coolant in the overflow bottle, it was
low... then i uncapped the radiator, it was full... so i started up the
engine. took it for a test drive... the water sounds are gone now. the
temp is reading normal. (below 50%) and i hear nothing. could the purge
actually have worked? i'm burnt out mentally from this entire ordeal so
now i'm just gonna leave it alone. if it breaks it breaks and i'll just
fix it...

I am not sure what your previous problem was, but if you have an air
bubble in you stream, the coolant will not circulate correctly. Some
cars you have to burp by opening the radiator, goosing the engine,
watching the level drop, adding coolant, etc.
So purging does make it circulate again.
