I just got my first Subaru last weekend and I have a question regarding
its' oil pressure gauge reading.  All the vehicles I've owned in the
past had the oil pressure showing at about quarter of the gauge, but
this one is at half even after driving only 5 minutes. (It doesn't seem
to go any higher than that though...)  I am not sure if this is normal
for Subarus or if this looks too high.  I got mine used with only 6K
miles on it. (2005 model)

Could anyone help with my concern?

Are you talking about oil pressure or temp?
I'll assume temp as I've not seen an oil
pressure gauge on a recent model Subaru.

My '99 Outback comes up to just a hair under
halfway very quickly and stays there with
only a very slight oscillation of less than
the width of the needle.

Duh... it must be a temp gauge not the oil pressure... sorry about
that.

Completely normal.
