I got my 06 LL Bean Forester around 1 month ago. Unfortunately I had my first flat today. The worst part is a nail went into the inner side wall of the tire and I know from the past often that means the tire is ruined and can't be plugged. Sure enough after going to a local tire store I was told that it needs to be replaced. I would get a 2nd opinion but know it likely needs to be replaced. My question, the car has Yokohama Geolander G900's. I haven't seen these sold anywhere and maybe they are only sold directly to Subaru. The guy today made it clear with the AWD system I have to have the exact same time and he mentioned a Bridgestone tire. I know often it's said you have to replace them in pairs but since these have only 2000 miles on it is it necessary? I was hoping it was under warranty but I see they don't have the road hazzard coverage. Can I just replace the one tire? Should I go with Yokohama or any specific brand or model of tire I should get? With such a new car and tires I want something that is very comparable. Your dealer can get you the exact tire. I know folks don't want to hear this but the same thing happened to me and I got the tire repaired by having a plug and an inside patch installed. It was fine afterwards. The OEM tires are crap anyway and I got less than 2 years on the R92s on my OBW.  SignatureAnd it really doesn't matter if I'm wrong I'm right Where I belong I'm right Where I belong. Lennon & McCartney I had the same problem on my 2005 Forester. I measured the tread ware at 5000 miles and it was still within the circumference difference of the 1/4" maximum. I put the Geolandar G900 spare on the ground with the other three and bought the same size 215/60 HR16 Kumho to go on the spare rim. It is slightly smaller in diameter than the 26.2" Geolandar G900 so it would be closer in size to the worn tires if I needed the spare again. At 25,000 miles now the tires all show within 1/32" of tread depth. Tirerack (www.tirerack.com) still carried the Yokohama Geolandar H/T G900 the last time I checked their site. I plan on replacing all four at around 35,000 miles as the current rate of tread ware indicates they should be worn out by then. Blair >I got my 06 LL Bean Forester around 1 month ago. I think the AWD is affected by uneven tire size but I don't really know by how much, 2000 miles wear would affect it. >I got my 06 LL Bean Forester around 1 month ago.
