There are several thousand things that can set a code. Without a code reader
you could spend a lot of time and money guessing at which one set the light.
At 165,000 miles could be oxygen sensors, catalytic converter, or loose gas
cap. Too many to guess at.

Sorry, you have a 1990 or 1991 which was before OBDII. There are ways to
pull the code on the OBDI cars.
