Pedal to the metal squeaking

Hey,
My 1997 legacy outback wagon (auto) makes an odd squeaking sound if I
accelerate very quickly. I first noticed it a week or so ago when I
tried to get on an on-ramp and floored it. The car makes no abnormal
noises if I accelerate normally. My friend listened and thought maybe a
leaky hose. Another suggested it might be belts, but I had them all
replaced in January (and tightened a squeaky one in April). After
driving somewhat quickly on a back road tonight I noticed the squeak
even as I was slowing down into my driveway.

To my untrained ear the squeak seems to repeat every time the tires
made a complete revolution - I could be completely wrong though.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,
Thomas

Compare warmth of wheels/hubs after highway driving. Could be a bearing
or maybe sticking brake caliper I guess.

Inspect brake pads in case the indicater (squealing metal tab) is on the
verge of engaging.

Bounce car up and down and listen for creaking noises. Possible
suspension problem I suppose.(strut bearing, bad bushing,etc.)

It sounds like I should have mentioned that my brakes have been
squealing a lot lately.
