I've had this, though not in a Subaru, from loose/broken sway-bar
mounting on the chassis. Check other suspension mount points also.
The sway-bar problem caused a small click coinciding with turn-in
body roll. Your braking noise is likely from a different suspension
component being loose.

Thanks, for your suggestion! What I have discovered is now every time
I back the car up to the left or to the right it makes the crack
noise. It seems like the longer I wait between attempts the louder it
is. You need to wait at least 5 to 10 minutes before attempts or it
won't do it all. Plus as security I'm going to attempt to record the
noise just in case the dealer can't hear it. Since I have taken the
car twice to Subaru for this same problem while under the initial 36k
warranty, I'm going to insist it be fully covered because now I have a
deductible.

Subaru dealers are notorious for lousy service departments.
