Please Help--vehicle in shop with tranny or electrical problem. While
driving, we get locked out of the tranny. Vehicle stays running with
no power, like revving in neutral. This has happened at 3000 miles
and the dealer found no problems, and could not interpret the computer
codes. Happened again last week--still in the shop, any ideas?

Lemon law!!!!!! Subaru has forgotten the formula that brought it bac
from the dead- the Outback. They are trying to be a luxury brand and
are rushing vehicles to market

The lemon law can vary widely by State but is certainly worth knowing
about. In my State, IIRC, you must have the same failure 3 times within
a narrow window of time. Likely your dealership will swap trannies
before the LL kicks in. Whatever they decide to do, you might ask to
have a meeting with the 'zone manager' from Subaru and ask for an
extended warranty at no charge.

Is it happening spontaneously in no particular circumstance or is there
any pattern?
When it happens, can you select *any* forward or reverse gear on the gate
and get moving again in some fashion?
Any possible input to both questions *may* help pinpoint something. Just
what you need with a new car hey?
