Have a 2006 Forester with no visible condensate drip from ac and a moldy
smell in cabin. Drain hose doesn't seem to be clogged and I can pour
water in through hose and it all seems to drain out. Any ideas?

Happens a lot in our neck of the woods.  Shoot some lysol spray in the
filters and run the AC for an hour or so.  Should take care of it.

Possibly wet/dirty cabin air filter (if installed).
check www.cars101.com for info/drawings on changing it.
