I bought legacy a coulpe of months ago and have been unable to work
out what a couple of buttons do. car is jap import so all manuals in
japanese. Have mucked around with buttons, but they do not seem to do
anything. have tried to d/l english manual- no success. Pls, can
someone tell me what these buttons do:

-switch near gearstick and handbrake all on its lonesome. looks like
it should heat/ de-fog the FRONT windscreen??? Does not seem to
though.

-turnable dial on left stick for windscreen wipers- has options int-
low-high. Thought it might change speed of rear wipers. Again, does
not to be so.

Help!?! Thanks

Jon

ps does anyone know where I can get hold of english owners manual (as
a pdf perhaps).

Pretty sure that is a heater to de-ice the windscreen wipers.

Sounds like front wipers 2 speeds and intermittent.

..got a 2k RSK Japanese import. Ours has a snowflake on a button forward
of the gear shift (auto) that I understand is for snow/slippery
conditions.  Never tried it, but read somewhere that it locks out first
gear to avoid wheel spin when starting off.

For the left-hand side wiper control, working inwards from the left
outside of the stork:
- the end button triggers the front sprays
- the end third (ish) section of the stork controls the wiper on/wiper
off/spray for the rear wiper
- the sleeve for the interrupt mode controls the speed for the front
wipers only (not the rear)

If you've got climate control a/c, the top left button with a rectangle
& lines icon will turn on the ac and switch to the windscreen vents. If
you turn off the a/c it'll auto boost the fan speed. The next button
along will turn on the rear window de-mist (you should hear a relay
click. Both also light an icon on the climate display in the center console.
