My ’98 is quite a dog, doesn’t seem to pull very strongly, although it
runs well and smoothly.  Looking for chips/mods to liven it up some.
I also have a cel--knock sensor.  Is this normally sensor failure or
wiring corrosion?  My exhaust pipe is black inside indicating rich f/a
ratio, how can I check for closed loop fuel system operation?  Thanks
for any and all help.  Russ

The most popular mod for these cars is to replace the 2.2 with the
2.5.... ;-) As far as the knock sensor is concerned, it's very simple
to replace. Costs about $100 at the dealer.

An the most popular repair for a 2.5 that has overheated because of head
gasket failure is replace it with a 2.2......
