Hi All,

On my 2006 Forrester, 4 CYL, where is my fuel
filter located?

Many thanks,

On my 1998 & 2003 models it is R.H. side back corner of engine bay.  A black
cannister about 2.5 inches diameter  & 6 inches high.  Black rubber pipes
running to the top of it.

Hope this helps

Regards

No sign of it on my 2006.  :-(   I think they moved it somewhere else.

It should be labelled in your owner's manual's diagrams. That's how I
found mine.

Well, of course not.  What good would it do there?

Have you seen what a new one looks like?  At the store or
something?  It might give you a clue as to what to look for under
the hood, or back by the tank.

It is in the gas tank.  I do believe they started this in 2005.  See

They are also very difficult to buy.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

The in-tank filter is part of the fuel pump assembly and is not
serviced separately. It does not have to be replaced at the same
intervals as the older external filter. For information on service
intervals see the service schedule in your owners manual or on the
Subaru website.
