I have a 2001 Subaru Outback and when it's in Park with the key on and step on the brake, it makes a fairly loud clicking noise between th radio and the glove box. Only happens when the key is on. When in Reverse or Drive... and I step on the brake it doesn't mak this noise. Any ideas? Carl  Signatureto reply, change ( .not) to ( .net) The noise is caused by the shifter lock solenoid, the one that prevents shifting into gear unless you are stepping on the brake pedal.
