I've just bought this car and there are no records of the timing belt been
ever changed. The mileage on the odometer is questionable too, so I am
trying to decide whether I should change the belt right away or if it can
wait...
According to the
http://ronananian.com/pages/timing%20belt%20replacement%20guide.pdf a '98
engine was non-interference, but not '99. Is that true?
Thanks,

If the spark plugs are oriented at an angle to the heads, it is
non-interference. If the plugs come straight out from the top of the
head, it is interference.
