Interesting boo-boo

Was inspecting my airfilter and noted the air-intake-temperature- sensor
loom plug unplugged from the filter-box. Been this way for 2 years since
I;ve owned it, yet I haven't noted any in fuel economy problems or any
alarms such as the check- engine -icon lighting up.

Same problem here - prior owner.

Engine runs fine, the problem is that you're admitting unfiltered air
through that hole.

Sensor needs to be removed when lifting the cover to replace or inspect
the filter element, and then people forget to replace it.

All you can do is make sure you don't duplicate the problem in the
future.

Ouch!  That's just dandy.

Too much haste.

A warning from the 'uber-sophisticated' engine management would have been
nice,...
