They've got more important things to do.  :)

Any luck with the keys?

Thanks for asking :-)

a couple of days ago , early in the am, I heard the Toyota's alarm
distinctive high pitch beep, like if someone was testing the remote on one
of my cars while I was waking up, but I couldn't see anybody nearby,
besides, I live close to a high traffic street so anyone could have
triggered the remote from a bike or a passing car, etc...
So then I though... "this is war"....so I got a copy of the "Toyota's Camry
2005 service manual" from a friend and follow the instructions on how to
deleted all the remotes doing a "prohibition mode" and then I programmed my
current remote and 1 more that I bought at eBay, this process also worked
great on the sienna. At this point the remotes that the thieves have are now
useless unless they program them with the master key they have ( I hope they
don't know the piece of cake procedure to do it) and after removing the
"club" from the steering wheel.

Next step is now to reprogram the ECU so that the transponder key that they
took is also inoperable, I guess that I have to do same thing as the
remotes, delete all the current keys and then add them again ,so I got from
eBay some "blank" transponder keys ready for programming. A friend has a
SNAP-ON scan tool, but it won't do 2005 cars. At the dealer they told that
is not possible to just reset the system... I don't believe them!" So I have
to find some nice guy that works at a Toyota dealership that would do the
reset on the ECU for some money or go with an "auto specialist locksmith
that has scan tool capabilities".

As long as they don't have the power to turn on the ignition it's ok with
me, I already emptied the cars from valuable things, like my Garmin GPS unit
in case they open the door and can't take the car. or they decide to use a
truck to haul it. I was thinking of putting some "poison ivy" on the door
handle but It'll be a bad idea if I forget about it....just kidding.

Wow, all-out war.  Good luck with that... get some security cameras,
maybe catch the plates of the guys who robbed you?

Try asking around for a mechanic familiar with Toyotas to see if they
can help you with your reprogramming... the nearby AutoZone recommended
a Toyota-familiar mechanic for me, I'll take my car there to do a
compression check.  (I'm afraid to try doing that on my own, even with
a Haynes manual).  Besides the price is very good.

A crazy teacher's assistant in one of my chemistry classes talked about
mixing snake venom with a chemical called DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide, I
believe), and putting that mixture on the door handle of someone you
don't like.  Supposedly the DMSO makes the venom go to your bloodstream
really fast through your skin, just by touching it.  I pressed him for
more information, then he quickly shut up...  I've never tried it, just
what you said brings back memories of classes from a decade ago...  :)

Be a *very* bad idea if you or your loved ones "forgot about it"...
would probably send you to the hospital with venom poisoning, or worse
if you crashed while losing consciousness... then again maybe it
doesn't really work at all.  ??

I was curious about this, so I asked the Ph.D toxicologists at my work
what they thought of the DMSO + snake venom trick.  They said it is not
likely to work; the proteins in the snake venom are too big to be
absorbed by the skin.

Oh well.  :)  Looks like the TA didn't know what he was talking about.

LOL , besides that it's hard to find a snake willing to cooperate this days.
How about someway of jumping the battery wires into the door handle.

Wouldn't be great to have a chip implant with a unique transponder code so
when you buy a car they program the car to only work if it's you instead of
putting it on the key itself ?  No more lost keys! Or instead of an implant
a ring, if you have multiple cars all of these cars will work with your
ring!

Oh well...back to work to pay for my this week gas.

If someone stoles the ring or it gets lost, just buy a replacement ring at
your convinient store and call the "Universal Engine Ignition Network" so
they put a flag alert on the other ring and program a new ring (via
satellite) and will also program all of the cars ECU's automagically!

Sounds expensive to start a UEIN, but hey let us know when you do an
IPO!
