We have an 04 Camry, 4 cyl., auto transmission, with about 24,000 miles.
Yesterday, the cruise acted up. When turned on, the cruise signal light up
on the dash, but it wouldn't set when I pushed the hand lever down and let
go. I tried it several times at about 60 to 65 mph. It wouldn't go on. It
has worked OK up till now, but the car has been used mostly in urban traffic
lately, so it hasn't been used too much.
We are the original owners and it's been about 3 and 1/2 years since we took
delivery, so the bumper to bumper warranty is no long in existence. The car
is still in the drive train and the emissions warranties. Can anyone tell
me the following:
1. Is the cruise still in some kind of warranty?
2. Has anyone else had this problem with this model Camry?
3. Is there some simple thing I should do before going to the dealer?

I don't know if there is fuse that controls it but you might check that.
Might be a loose wire
