It sounds good, but just because the oil is supposed to be good for "up
to 15,000 miles" between changes, wouldn't the filter still need
replaced at an interval which is less than that ?

Depends on the quality of the oil filter. The main quality is "Filter
Efficiency". The ISO 4548-12 test at 15 microns reveals conventional
brand name synthetic blend media oil come in at 80.23% and
conventional brand name paper filters perform only to 39.39%
efficiency. The Ea Oil Filter has a coveted 98.70% efficiency and will
perform for one year and can be cleaned by air or vacuum. Combining
that with superior synthetic motor lube, you're looking a potential on
one year or minimum or potential of 25,000 miles interval, depending
on the driving conditions.
