I looked out the window where my 1997 Camry was parked & it was gone.
I went out to look & saw my Camry hit & run,the car was dragged about 20
feet.
My concern is did it hurt the Transmission or any other part by being
dragged while in Park position.
What should i look for besides the body damage ?

Oh boy what a drag... I hope your insurance is still OK. Do you use
your hand break when you park?

TWENTY FEET?!?!?!?!

Write it off! If they hit it hard enough to move it 20 feet, there must be
some serious damage. Can you post pics somewhere?

Yes i use the handbrake.
No there is not alot of damage.
It looks like they hit the quarter panel & dragged or pushed it.

Dragged 20 feet in Park with the handbrake and not a lot of damage on
the body, besides the quarter panel? Thats one hell of a strong car.
My RAV4 was rear ended and pushed only a couple of inches while on D
and I was stepping on the brakes. Not even Toyota could completely
restore the rear door, it doesn't close in one push as it normally
did. Maybe, just maybe, the hit didn't throw off your car 20 feet but
the people had to lift your car 20 feet away to get it out of the way.
Did you see tire drag marks all over the road? They normally lift the
car from the front so your transmissions safe.

Only 2, I suppose, and not 4 tire marks. One should not put too much
stress on the transmission, an example, when you park on a an incline
you should use the parking brake and not just shift park, also a
safety precaution, and you should engage the parking brake first
before shifting to P. That is besides the fact you have to steer your
tires towards the curb. This even applies to manual shift cars. I
still think they lifted your car and dragged only the rear wheels.
Unless its clear to you that the drag marks came from the front
wheels.
