My Camry has a noticable engine vibration @ 2000 rpm. This is the 4 cyl
model, 2001, 2.2l.
Apply the gas and the vibration disappears but when the tach hits 2k the
vibrations are there again.

What could be the prob?

Have a look at the engine braces that attach the engine to the body.  I
think they have rubber blocks to damp vibration - they may be cracked
and are not damping like they should.
