Actually, in 33 years of virtually daily driving I've never come upon that. If the belt breaks it's like any other stall - you can still pull over to the shoulder. It *can* happen, but you're more likely to get creamed by someone driving (or trying to drive) an SUV. I had a 1988 which I gave away at around 250,000... It needed a loving home with lots of money and body work repair experience. :) I now have a 1999 with 163,000... When you are in a 4 lane highway and your car just dies rarely can you "Pull over" I say again even if im rude , that not done maintenance kills people. I remember when many states had Saftey Inspections, to keep cars safe and not cause accidents, it is few now and He would not pass, likely for many reasons, so Rude as it may seem , saftey is not taken or known by most. In the past he would not have been issed a sticker for his lisence without proper maintanance, That is the way it should still be, but states cut it back because of cost , So get the moron off the fuckin road....... There was ocne a time when people respected each otehr and could disagree in a public forum without acting like 12 year old kids... Maybe there are some budget cuts in that area too?
