There is a lot of information in this NG about how to lubricate the
IAC valve on '95 etc Camrys using Triflow, however where I live in
Asia I can't find Triflow anywhere, would it be ok to use another
aerosol lubricating product such as Sonax or WD40 or such.
Thank you

I hosed out the IAC on our Camry with spray carb cleaner. It did the
trick.

You could use emission control safe carburetor cleaner or some other
type of penetrating lubricant. The idea behind Tri-Flow is that the
teflon component leaves behind a more durable dry film lubricant.
Sorry to say, I think I've discovered all these ideas are short term
fixes. Can work perhaps a year or two and then you need to replace the
valve anyway.
Interestingly, last time I did this I got a brand new defective IAC
valve from the dealer, but the replacment has worked flawlessly.
I checked with the lead mechanic. His only advice was to lubricate the
valve perhaps every six months as preventative.
Mechanics think of WD-40 as more of a water dispersant ("WD") than a
lubricant. You should be able to find lots of "penetrating oil"
aerosols locally.
Just go easy because that can attract dirt even though the air is
filtered.
