"All Clean Air Vehicle stickers will expire January 1, 2011, unless the law
authorizing their use is extended beyond that date."
from http://www.dmv.ca.gov/vr/decal.htm
Sounds pretty "official" to me. I'm betting against this date being
extended, given that every other car in LA seems to be a Prius.

This applies to the white sticker too; those are for electric cars, LPG
cars, etc.
I'm fairly certain that it will be extended.

Some months ago I ordered my dealer's first 2010,
contingent upon plug-in, lithium, etc. However, when it
became clear that the stickers wouldn't transfer - and
there aren't new ones - I withdrew the order.
I've already had this 2004 longer than any car since my
first in 1954, but will keep it to preserve that
important HOV privilege.
