bought the car in 12/98, so that's 7 1/4 years, including 7 winters!

Hope not. Maybe the moral of these stories is: batteries are made better
than they used to be and last longer, I'm not sure.

The battery in my 1978 Datsun B210 lasted until late 1987. In Feb 1988 I
bought the Toyota pickup I have now and have replaced the battery three
times. The original battery lasted 7 years. I guess that's not a bad
record for 18 years...
It is about due for another one, judging by the way it starts in the
morning. I live in So. Cal., so can't blame cold weather... :>))
