Replaced 2000 Tundra's Battery

I had to replace the battery in my 2000 Tundra today - the original
battery that lasted over 6 years. That's got to be some kind of
record, at least for me.

That is excellent service for a battery, usually 3-5 yrs is good.

The one in my wife's Camry lasted for 8 years. That's the longest life I've
ever gotten from a battery too.

I've got the original battery in my 1999 Jeep Wrangler right now. I
bought the car in 12/98, so that's 7 1/4 years, including 7 winters!

Damn, I just cursed myself...

Hope not. Maybe the moral of these stories is: batteries are made better
than they used to be and last longer, I'm not sure.

The battery in my 1978 Datsun B210 lasted until late 1987. In Feb 1988 I
bought the Toyota pickup I have now and have replaced the battery three
times. The original battery lasted 7 years. I guess that's not a bad
record for 18 years...

It is about due for another one, judging by the way it starts in the
morning. I live in So. Cal., so can't blame cold weather... :>))

"I think a lot of has to do with environmentals. When I lived in Phoenix,
my car batteries would last about 2 years. Here in Virginia where the
weather is temperate, I've still got the original battery in my 2000 Tundra
and it's going strong.
