Hi Everyone,

Have a 1999 4Runner with about 132000 miles on it. I have been thinking of
replacing the regular oil with the synthetic kind. Any problems I should
watch out for on a vehicle with this many miles? Also, can anyone describe
the main benefits of using synthetic oil?

Thanks a lot.

Duh...... Google is your friend...... there have been a couple of threads
about syn oils just in the last couple of weeks.

Only thing I'd worry about is the quality of your seals.  What I've
found in the past is that synthetic oils are designed to be able to
squeeze into tight areas that conventional oils can't, like between
gears and in bearings... So if your rear main seal isn't airtight you
might start finding a drip or two out the back of your engine.
