Hello All,

I have an '06 Tacoma with the Remote Keyless entry, that does what it
is supposed to do - un/lock the doors. The one thing that I wish it did
was "beep" the horn when the doors locked. Every other vehicle I've had
does this, and I'm never quite sure the doors lock with this truck. I
couldn't find anything in the manuals about it, and the dealer is
closed, so I figured the knowledgeable folks here might know. TIA for
any insight.

have you tried holding down both the lock & unlock buttons for about 10
seconds? Not sure if it'll work with your truck but it's worth a try.

Just for the sake of archives, I thought I would add to this.

I contacted my dealer today, and was informed that since all I have is
the basic keyless entry system that doesn't include the Toyota security
system, then what I have is all I have, and it cannot be changed. I
asked how much it would be to upgrade to the Toyota security system,
and was told $795, to which I responded, "I'll get used to it the way
it is". Just wanted to pass it along.

Please don't make your horn honk. It bothers everyone else nearby.
Instead make your lights blink or something else.
