I'm in the market for a new Forerunner and looking for whether to buy the V6
or V8?

The V6 has multi mode which I believe is two wheel drive then shift to four
wheel drive.

The V8 is all the time four wheel drive.

I live in Colorado and regularly drive the city traffic, highways and
off-roads to get to the trailheads where I climb the high peaks.

I've driven the V8 and it's very smooth.  Have not driven the V6 yet.

I would like to get an 'off-road' TRD version if they make it but I don;t
think they do.

Any recommendations for engine or configuration that you like, or don't
like?

If you tow anything get the V8.  The Sports Edition (SE) is probably closest
you'll get to TRD.  It has tube running board now )think since 06) vice the
fiberglass city running boards. Can't get leather in the SE from the factory
though.

Scuse my ignorance.... but why would somebody actually *WANT* leather seats
in a truck?? They are hot in the summer, you stick to them, they are cold in
the winter, and they are very expensive to replace when you gouge or tear
one. Am I missing anything here??

I won't be getting leather in the forerunner!

Does the V6 run at higher RPM's?

Can you put a Blower on either engine?

I remember the V6's in the PU's can have a Blower.

TRD (Toyota) only has a supercharger for the V8 $Runner engine.  The old
3.4L V6 has one but not the new 4L.
