There is a move in Congrees to reduce or remove the War Powers from
President Bush. Oh well...

But, before you go dancing in the streets after trading your "No Blood For
Oil" posters for "Impeach Bush" posters, realize that anything he did (or
does) concerning the war effort in Iraq or National Security at home is
not impeachable as long as War Powers is in effect. So before we see a
rash of "Impeach Bush" postings, make sure there is a basis.

I'll bet in the Town Common this afternoon the k00ks will be hitting the
bricks with signs and posters, etc. I wish I had had my camera last
Saturday...it was classic!

I wouldn't say "impeach" until we know the identity of every investment in
his family's blind trust(s). Same for Cheney.

GWB will NOT be impeached for ANYTHING.

Well, we KNOW that, but the l00nies will be out on the Town Common with
their "Impeach Bush" posters if Congress has it's way...

The idea of a blind trust is that no one, except the manager of the fund,
has any idea what is in the blind trust. The person who owns the blind trust
is no more responsible for picking the securities than you are in my IRAs.

Theoretically.

If someone in government who has a blind trust knows what is in his
portfolio, that itself is a major problem. If you can provide us with some
evidence that Cheney or anyone else with a blind trust knows what is in his
or her portfolio, please provide us with the evidence. Otherwise, please
don't make unfound accusations.

Have a lovely day.

You must be very young, or you'd understand that when politicians make
hideous decisions, whether it's a war based on lies, or a local project that
obviously cannot be successful, it's because the politicians benefited
financially. There are no exceptions. If you'd like to read about a typical
local project that was crooked from day one, do a google search for these
words:  rochester toronto fast ferry

I don't think all politicians are dishonest. Some certainly are. But I don't
think that the mayor of NYC is making bad choices because of dishonesty. I
think the bad decisions he is making (and not all his decesions are bad) are
being made because he is not really in touch with most New Yorkers. One
example is that the mayor just put into effect a new school bus plan. The
plan left thousands of students stranded, put siblings who go to the same
school on different buses and force kindergarten kids to cross busy
multi-lane streets. This wasn't done to make dishonest money. It was done
out of stupidity.  But if I want to start with dishonest politicians, I all
need to do is read about the democrats and Taminy hall in  NYC.

Yet, this does not mean that anyone in office today knows what is in his/her
blind trust.

Do you think that a blind trust will prevent Dick Cheney from making money
off his work as Vice President later? Back to Haliburton, perhaps. It has
not left my notice that Haliborton and other contractors have made a ton of
money from the Iraq war while young people from the US, Britian and Iraq are
dying left and right.

Certainly, there are many reforms that should be made in things like
campaign finances.

But to come to the conclusion that Dick Cheney knows what is in his blind
trust with evidence is unfounded.

Until you are able to make an intelligent comment in this OT thread, I will
not respond to you.

You haven't shown yourself to be worth my time.

Cheney doesn't need to know what's in his blind trust. Think harder. His
manager only needs to know what Cheney would LIKE to be invested in. You and
I know. I suspect his investment manager does, too, unless he's been living
in a cave.

I don't pay it any mind.  I've been to enough homes to know they're out
there avoiding housework. I'm not kidding. Soiled dishes stacked to the
ceiling. Family rooms looking like a disaster hit it. Newspapers all over
the freakin' place. Even the litter boxes are overflowing.  Obviously not
the type of people you should take seriously.

When were you at my house?!?!

Well, no dishes, no newspapers, but computers, car parts, snowblower
parts, sound gear...hey, ya gotta set your priorities!

I'm sure you have a place for everything and everything in it's place. Maybe
in a few years you'll start to unload and only keep what you really need. If
you come across a box of loose nuts, screws and washers DON'T THROW THEM
OUT!! under any circumstances.
